Viewing the world via the eyes of Lisbon-based total photographer Teresa Freitas is like getting into a sweet-colored wonderland. With gentle pastel hues and resourceful compositions, her ever-growing portfolio of travel images captures the magic of each location she visits.
Freitas’s interest in pictures and innovative enhancing began as a sophomore. During this time, she shot portraiture using black and white film. However, her style soon advanced into the colorful, virtual snapshots she creates nowadays. From military parades in Saint Petersburg to Budapest’s stunning thermal baths, Freitas’ whimsical pictures appear like scenes from a Wes Anderson movie.
Freitas digitally edits her uncooked pics to acquire her wonderful, pastel-tinted aesthetic. “When I commenced visiting extra, I commenced to realize simply how plenty you may see paintings with color to form a photograph and deliver a subtle strangeness to an area, as something that exists on the equal time that it doesn’t,” Freitas tells My Modern Met. “I’ve usually been interested in tinted colors, so that wasn’t a choice; however, it was a natural final result.
